Industrial Cultivation of Hericium erinaceus—Comparison of Fruiting Modes

The cultivation modes of Hericium erinaceus factory fruiting include inversion cultivation mode, side cutting cultivation mode, basket cultivation mode, bottle cultivation mode and grid cultivation mode.
1. Inverted cultivation mode
During the growth and development, the thorns of the Hericium erinaceus grow towards the direction of gravity. Turning the bag mouth downward will make all the thorns of the Hericium erinaceus stand upright. In actual cultivation, it was found that a special high-density mesh is required for the head of the fungus bag to go down, and the condensed water generated by the humidifier easily flows to the fruiting body of the Hericium erinaceus, causing problems such as bacterial contamination and affecting the shape of the product of the Hericium erinaceus.
2. Side cut pattern
Farmers in northern my country mostly use the side cutting method to cultivate Hericium erinaceus, but in the actual factory cultivation, it is found that the relative humidity of the bacterial bag during the cultivation process is in the range of 65% to 70%, and the bacteria at the mouth of the bag will not be affected by Dehydration leads to drying and death, so the fruiting body of Hericium erinaceus will continue to grow at the mouth of the bag, and the side fruiting occupies a large area, which is not easy to put on the shelves and harvest, so the side cutting mode is not suitable for the factory cultivation of Hericium erinaceus
3. Basket planting mode
Directly place the turnover basket with the mushroom bag on the fruiting bed frame. This method is similar to the grid cultivation mode. It can be realized by welding the bed frame specially placed for the turnover basket. However, it takes a long time to occupy the turnover basket, which increases the fixed investment.
4. Bottle planting mode
Using the bottle planting mode can achieve a high degree of automation in the cultivation stage, but in the fruiting stage, the direct fruiting of the bottle mouth will lead to too much primordia, resulting in the formation of a large number of small Hericium erinaceus, with poor commodity properties and low economic benefits; In addition, the use of customized small-mouth bottle caps for fruiting can reduce the number of primordia, but there are still more primordia compared with direct fruiting from the mouth of plastic bags, which also increases operating procedures and investment costs.
5. Grid cultivation mode
The actual production shows that the grid cultivation mode is the most suitable mode for the fruiting of Hericium erinaceus. The environmental conditions are controlled evenly, the operation is relatively simple, and the placement density can be increased or decreased according to the existing facilities and equipment.
